OD Sketchbook 1 – Download Ableton, Maschine, Reason and WAV!

The first installment of our new regular freebie OD Sketchbooks is available today!

Whew, so, admittedly today’s been a bit rough. Amongst many other things that endeavoured to keep me from getting the first OD Sketchbook out to you, I think I may have discovered a bug in Maschine that almost brought the day to a standstill. Don’t quote me on that, though, because I’m still tweaking behind the scenes to make sure. Nonetheless, here it is:

OD Sketchbook 1

So what is an OD Sketchbook? Well, the future’s bright – but focusing on day one, you’re about to download a pre-made kit of 16 professional, unique sounds, laid out for you to jam with straight away or use as part of your next track. It’s a free sample pack, a construction kit, an improvisation tool, and 16 pads of inspiration all wrapped into one… and it’s free!

As promised, OD Sketchbook 1 is available for download in Reason, Maschine, and Ableton Live presets, as well as direct WAV for the rest of you! Think of this as the sneak preview of the next big thing – fanfare will follow later this week (including demos!) but it was either get out the finished product sans bells and whistles, or break our promise to you to get it out today…

Download Reason Refill

To use, just navigate to the refill!

Download Ableton Live Pack

Double click to ‘install’ the Live pack, and then either load from where you installed it or move/copy the files into your Ableton Library… Ableton can be a bit tricky with custom Live packs, so we’ll provide a detailed description for the shy asap!

Download Maschine Group

Place the entire folder in your User Paths directory (if you don’t have one already, create it in Preferences). You may need to rescan to make it appear!

Download Wav Folder

With Wav you won’t have the immediacy of the other sketchbooks, but we will soon provide a way around that, bear with us!

We’re going to really take this concept to the next level over the next couple of weeks, with videos, free tutorials, drills, and more, and if you’ll bear with us while we work out the kinks in the formula you’ll be able to look forward to plenty of freebies in short space of time while we really refine things. Look out for expanded directions for those of you unsure how to get started, videos, artwork and more this very week!

As mentioned, OD Sketchbooks is brand new. Improvements to the concepts will take shape right before your eyes, but there are bound to be things that don’t work so well so PLEASE let us know in the comments if you come across anything weird, odd, or just plain wrong!
