Whether it’s acoustic, electro acoustic, or plain electronic sounds, this compilation from the Wah Wah 45s has it covered…
A various artists compilation of covers, reworks, and originals, Allo Love Volume 2 is a devilishly tasty look into the Wah Wah 45s ethos.
Whether it’s Skinshape’s dub tinged rendition of Grandma’s Hands, the enveloping Throwing Snow Remix of Part-Time Heroes’ Done that evolves into some kind of amazing electro-acoustic UK garage hybrid, the hip hop/trip hop line tiptoeing of Matches’ Honeycomb, or any other of the album’s 16 tracks, you never know quite what you’ll get at any moment until you hear it but it’s always somehow simultaneously refreshing and comforting.
If there’s not something that makes your creative nerve twitch in this album I don’t know where you’ll find the stimulus – and there’s nothing like independent label pricing either, at £5 for the entire collection. Listen now – and let us know what you think!0
