Celemony Announce Capstan Wow & Flutter Remover

More of a point of interest than something you might be able to use personally, this one.

Capstan promises to remove wow and flutter from mechanical recordings totally, automatically, and artefact free

Celemony, the organisation behind can-barely-believe-it’s-real sound editor, pitch corrector, note and chord extractor extraordinaire Melodyne, have come up with a new tool based on their patented audio engine; Capstan promises to remove wow and flutter from mechanical recordings totally, automatically, and artefact free. It could be incredibly useful for those of you with records you always wanted to sample, but either through warps of spinning plate proportions or just plain bad recording, never could, or with those cassettes you made of your tracks in the 90s with that dodgy recorder you had… as long as you’ve got €3790. Something tells us that Capstan wasn’t developed with the home musician in mind!
