Jacque Polynice - Skidda

Jacque Polynice – Skidda + Mike Slott Remix

No sooner do I write about the inevitable decline of institutions that vinyl created than I’m presented with this, a digital 12″ from Jacque Polynice on Circuitree Records with a remix of a past single by Mike Slott.

Both songs have in common a brevity to their structure, complemented by a lateral depth that rewards repeated listening

Both songs have in common a brevity to their structure, complemented by a lateral depth that rewards repeated listening. Complex, almost subliminally subtle layering takes us down two different paths; in Skidda, Polynice creates a pensive yet driving industrialist landscape, whilst in Mike Slott’s B side remix of Obama O’s, the feeling is of tumbling through glades into a miniature world. Vox, percussive riffs and fills, and the in, out, nature of orchestral sounds that juxtapose the electronica are the name of the game.

The official release of this digital 12″ is the 13th of February, but you can check it out in advance now…
